AEC Reliance Park Royal Dual Purpose Body
Aldershot & District/City of Oxford

In Spring 1962 Aldershot & District took delivery of 15 AEC Reliance vehicles for their Farnham-London Victoria express coach service. Fitted with Park Royal dual purpose bodywork and painted in a green & cream livery they were soon displaced by 36’ long vehicles. 

In 1968 2 vehicles were loaned to City of Oxford to ease their vehicle problems and in 1969-70 10 of the batch were sold to them. With COMS they appeared in at least 3 different liveries but retained their original destination equipment. Some, at least, of the 5 remaining with A & D received standard bus destination equipment.

City of Oxford fleet numbers were:

601-610               415/416/419/421/422/414/417/418/425/426 DHO

Very similar vehicles had been delivered to East Kent in 1960-61.

TFN 400-439 had different front dash panelling but had similar windows. A kit of this batch is a possibility for the future. ??????

YJG 500/WFN 501-518 had hopper windows and small windows in the front dome as well as another different front dash panel. 

Neath & Cardiff had received 3 similar vehicles in 1959 ( TWN 556-8 ) but in addition to different side trim and sliding windows these had coach doors.
