Kit No. WIL 5: AEC Regal lll  Willowbrook Single Deck 1948-50

Willowbrook Ltd of Derby Road Loughborough was registered in 1927 taking over a business based in Leicester.
Expansion was rapid in Loughborough and by the mid 30`s they became known for well appointed single deck bus bodies which appeared mostly with independent operators.

After the war the proportion of business done with British Electric Traction increased. Along with Brush, Weymann and Roe, bus bodies were built to the familiar BET half cab standard design of the time.

AEC Regal III (WIL 5)  Oxford (29) South Wales(?)

A DP version was also produced and these had a moulding flash on each side and a single or divided rear window with the emergency exit at the off side front.

Operators were Hebble, Stratford Blue, Oxford (with bus style emergency layout), and Trent

Yorkshire Woollen also had OPD 2 and PS2 bus type but these were 8` wide.

They were the very last of the half cabs as the underfloor chassis was about to be launched which made them soon look dated.
