WAY4 Harrington Wayfarer IV The Harrington Wayfarer Mk.IV made its first appearance at the 1956 Commercial Motor Show. The first five coaches had a central entrance but, after this, the front entrance prevailed, and it is in this form that the kit is based.
The Mk.IV appears to have met with approval, and Maidstone & District took large batches. Customers old and new were all attracted to the new model, with examples going to North Western, East Yorkshire and Western Welsh.
The first Wayfarer IV was built on a Leyland Tiger Cub chassis, and was supplied to Grey-Green, registered TLC320. This was the last Harrington design to be available with the option of the dorsal fin. It is believed that the last vehicle fitted was Silver Star SAM47, in 1958.
