The L3 was the largest single batch delivered to L.T. and were of chassisless construction.

All 175 vehicles were of all metal six-bay construction and had revised upper deck front which gave a more streamlined appearance. This was achieved by sweeping the side rainshields down to merge in with the upper deck pillars. The front rainshields also sweeping down at the corners and in the centre giving the effect of a pair of eyebrows. The windscreens were also set lower and the cream band did not run round the front.

The entire batch was allocated initially to Holloway, West Ham and Poplar depots, later to Finchley and also to Fulwell to replace the Q1`s.

The Kit

The Kit has two part resin body with resin seating and metal base. Correct profile push fit rubber wheels are included together with metal roof gantry with composite rubber and metal trolley poles.
