Kits for STAR A, D, L & W

Star Brothers, an old established Sydney body building firm were located at St. Peters on the Princes Highway and commenced building bodies on buses well before World War Two.

Regrettably, the premises were gutted by fire in the early 1950's and following rebuilding they concentrated on only building truck bodies until fairly recent times.

 The kit is based on  Ex MO 507, an Albion Valkyrie  CX 13  bus which was new to Red Transit Company of Hurstvillle Grove.  It featured a 41 seats 2 door bus amd it spent its entire working life with the company.

When Red Transit was sold it was surplus to requirements  and was `rescued` for preservation by Ken Butt. 

For many years it was on display in the Sydney Bus Museum at Tempe but is now in the care of  Powerhouse Museum at Castle Hill.

Many similar although not identical bodies were built on various chassis which gives the kit many possibilities which is great news for the bus modeler.

It is available not only as the Albion but as a White WA  with White Grill as operated by Sergeants and numerous  other operators, the Daimler with exposed radiator as operated by Jamiesons and the Leyland with exposed radiator as operated by Rutty's. Also, it is a very simple task to construct a grille to represent the Daimler of the Entrance Red Bus Service and the AEC of Jamiesons.

A shorter version to represent the smaller Whites of Sargeants, Albions of Foleys and AEC of Red Transit may be the subject of a future kit.

Included are the following parts:

1. Resin one piece body

2. Resin chassis/seating unit

3. Steering wheel & column

4. Push fit wheel set (6 wheels 2 axles)

5. Glazing

Resin fronts are available in four styles and included as appropriate:

STAR A - ALBION,  STAR W - WHITE,  STAR L - LEYLAND,  STAR D - DAIMLER

The latter two include either a Leyland or Daimler metal radiator.
