NC3
Leyland PD3/4 / Northern Counties
'Queen Mary' |
|
The Leyland PD3/4 became a familiar site on many Southdown Routes. An attractive vehicle with a small bay amidships
showing the extension from the original 27' 6" design to 20' long and a full front
all giving an impression of size. The highbridge body was easily recognisable as Northern
Counties to the trained eye.
Many variations appeared after the initial
batch in 1958 culminating in the final designs with panoramic windows and curved
windscreens.
The kit is based on what may be termed the
second series with front quarter opening windows and single headlights.
These were introduced between 1958 and 1961
and were numbered as follows;
843 - 862 XUF 843 -
862 863 - 912 2863 - 2912 CD
The kit comprises
- Two piece resin body
- Resin seating unit and support for body
- Metal chassis plate
- Solid rubber push fit wheels plus axles
- Steering wheel
- Glazing
