NORTHERN COACHBUILDERS LOWBRIDGE AEC REGENT III |

Northern Coachbuilders not to be confused with Northern Counties were formed in Newcastle on Tyne in 1931. They produced a standard post-war double deck body from 1946-1951. They were of a composite construction being flexible enough top be fitted to AEC, Leyland Guy and Daimler chassis. Proving they were a national coachbuilder N.C.B. supplied Glasgow, Dundee, Sheffield, Bradford, Northampton, Bolton and Blackburn Corporations B.E.T. companies included City of Oxford , Yorkshire Woollen and Northern General. They also produced a Lowbridge version of the standard body and this was supplied to Cumberland, City of Oxford, Provincial companies plus Huddersfield Corporation. Other single samples were supplied to smaller operators.
