MW59
(MW58, MW58DP, MW59, MW59DP Series)
Bristol MW / ECW Bus |
|
The Bristol MW (Medium Weight) replaced the LS model in 1957. In shape and size the two were completely
interchangeable but with a separate chassis and therefore heavier.
The MW bus had a shallower windscreen
divided horizontally with the upper part raked back. The two leaf entrance door was
contoured to fit the new front. A small grille was a distinguishing feature on the centre
front (some later models were fitted with a high grille for the Cave-Brown-Cave heating
system). The initial examples had an upright back but this was disliked and soon changed
to one similar to the LS bus.
The four kit series includes the MW58 with
provision for 3 part destination screens front and rear. The MW59 with 2 part destination
screens front only and larger rear windows. The same body shells are used for the DP
versions but with coach seats |
|
The kit comprises
- One piece resin body.
- One piece resin seating unit and chassis.
- Metal base plate
- Steering wheel and column
- Push fit composite rubber wheel set with
axles
- Silver printed windscreen and glazing set.
