K37
Bristol K / ECW
(1937) |
|
The Bristol pre war 'K' chassis was introduced in 1937. Most K5G chassis
were bodied by ECW at Lowestoft. A
very pleasing rounded body was created and most were of lowbridge design with 6 bays and
traditional half-drop windows.
Although the basic shape was the same, many
operators had different ideas ( e.g. some early bodies for Westcliff on Sea had a small
window under the staircase. This was also applied to some bodies supplied to Western
National and Hants & Dorset. )
The kit is based on what might be termed
'the basic design' and if completed unmodified could represent examples in the fleets of
Eastern National, Thames Valley and United, but with minor modifications can be made to
represent vehicles in many other fleets. It is therefore essential to refer to photographs
prior to building the model.
The kit comprises
- Two piece resin body
- Resin lower base & chassis
- Resin staircase
- Metal base plate & platform
- Metal steering wheel & column
- Metal radiator
- Metal platform pole
- Metal Vac pump
- Starting handle
- Bristol wheel set ( 6 wheels 2 axles )
- Glazing sheet
